It’s easy to celebrate the arts programs within the Logan City School District as part of a WOW Wednesday. Each and every art related staff member is a valued member of #teamlogan. We have incredible people in photography, sculpture, ceramics, band, orchestra, choir, theater and more. It is our pleasure to share that we are adding an incredible member to that team. Jared Rounds has accepted the position as the new theater teacher at Logan High. We’d love to share a little bit of an introduction.
Jared Rounds grew up in Spanish Fork, Utah, where at the age of 6, his mom took him to see his first play, and he was immediately bitten by the theatre bug. He continued to pursue his love of theatre throughout middle school, junior high and high school. He received his Associate’s Degree from the College of Eastern Utah and his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Acting from Utah State University. He began working as the costume designer for Logan High School in 2011, where he has designed almost 20 productions, including Once Upon a Mattress, Titanic, Meet Me in St. Louis, Blythe Spirit, See How They Run, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella and Singin’ in the Rain.
He has directed many productions for the Cache Theatre Company, including Aida, Once on this Island, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Little Mermaid, and Jekyll and Hyde as well as assistant directing Bravo Caruso for Utah Festival Opera.
He has taught multiple workshop classes at the annual Utah Theatre Association Conference and for the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre. As well as acting as an adjudicator for the Utah High School Musical Theatre competition for the past 6 years.
He has an impressive acting resume and has recently played roles in Camelot (King Arthur), The Importance of Being Earnest (Jack Worthing), Noises Off (Frederick Fellows/Philip Brent) and Once On This Island (Tonton Julian).
Jared is beyond excited and is looking forward to this new chapter with Logan High School.Mitzi Meacham said, “I have loved working with Jared as our costume designer and as an assistant director on many productions at Logan High. He loves Logan High School and has created many positive relationships with the students he has worked with. He is highly respected in the arts community in Cache Valley and will be an excellent addition to the Fine Arts Department at Logan High.”
